Nintendo Wii 32017 Error Fix

I hooked up my Wii for the first time in about 3 years. I remember I “hacked” it once using some kind of mod I found to play downloaded games. I don’t play games

When I plugged it in, there was an update available. Everything seemed to be fine, but after a few minutes I got the error code “32017″.¬†anymore, and really just wanted to use my Wii to stream Netflix on a TV that didn’t have it.

I was able to fix it by doing the following:

I searched for a while and couldn’t find anything other than “You have to send your Wii back to Nintendo to fix it”. Typically all of the outcomes I had read showed that this was not an option – they end up saying its been “hacked” and they can’t fix it. Well, that’s not acceptable for me.

NOTE: I was using OS # 4.3U, not sure if this mattered or not.

  • 2GB (or less) SD Card
  • Super Smash Bro’s Brawl

1) Factory reset your Wii, it will erase literally everything – saved games, roms, whatever else on your system.

2) Use the “Smash Stack” hack to run a boot loader

3) Instead of INSTALLING a OS BootLoader – choose UNINSTALL on everything

4) Reboot your Wii and enjoy your update, netflix, etc!
