Outlook.com (or Exchange) Email on Android Kitkat

outlook

Whenever I started a new website, I would sign up for Google’s free business apps and associate it with the domain. Since Google Apps has became a paid service, its more difficult to justify paying for the service that I potentially may not use. I love Google business, but not every site I make yields a return so I need something for free to get things off the ground or at the very least, look official. Enter Outlook.com. They offer free email hosting for your own domain. (Perfect!) It takes a bit of setup, but that’s probably another blog post (TIP: Start here).

The biggest issue I had was adding this email address to my Nexus 5 Android device.

Here’s how I did it.

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Click Corporate
  3. Click Account Settings
  4. Click Add Account
  5. Enter your Email address / Password
  6. Click Manual Setup
  7. Click Exchange
  8. Change the server to snt-m.hotmail.com
  9. Click Next
  10. All Done!
